About Vaxine
Vaxine is an Australian biotechnology company founded in Canberra in 2002 with subsidiaries in USA (Macrovax Inc.) and Japan (Vaxiva Biosciences KKR). Vaxine's product pipeline includes novel vaccines against seasonal and pandemic influenza, hepatitis, HIV, malaria, shigella, rabies, Japanese encephalitis and West Nile virus. Vaxine is also engaged in research into vaccines against a range of human chronic diseases including diabetes mellitus, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis and cancer. Vaxine already has four vaccine products in human clinical trials (hepatitis B, seasonal influenza, pandemic influenza and insect bite allergy) with enrolment of over one thousand participants into its clinical trial programs to date. The effectiveness of Vaxine's novel products is underpinned by the proprietary Advax™ adjuvant technology. Adjuvants are a critical ingredient in vaccines where they act as an immune booster to ensure a vaccine generates effective and long-lasting protection. Advax™ adjuvants offer significant benefits, having been proven to be more effective than existing adjuvants but also being safer and better tolerated than traditional adjuvants such as aluminium hydroxide (alum). Advax™ adjuvants are effective across the full spectrum of pediatric and adult vaccines, and have shown particular promise in biodefense vaccine applications including pandemic influenza and anthrax. Vaxine currently holds contracts with the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop novel biodefense vaccines based on its Advax™ adjuvants technology.

In recent years, Vaxine has won a number of prestigious prizes for its vaccine innovations including the Australian Anthill AusIndustry Innovation Award, the Telstra Business Awards AMP Innovation Award and the Small to Medoum Services Award at the South Australian Business Awards
